Privacy policy

What we store

• Your account: an email address, and for trial visitors an anonymous account id. No password is stored; sign-in is by email link or code.
• Your documents: the text you paste, link or upload, its structure, and your reading progress. Uploaded files are deleted right after the text is extracted.
• Generated audio: cached on our servers so you can replay without paying twice. It is deleted with the document.
• Credits: a ledger of minutes granted, purchased and used.
• Settings: voice, speed, theme and reading preferences.

Who processes it

Text is sent to Google Cloud (Vertex AI text to speech, Cloud Text-to-Speech and Speech-to-Text) to produce audio and word timings. Accounts and documents are stored with Supabase. The web app runs on Vercel. Errors are reported to Sentry without document contents. Email is delivered by Resend. Trial abuse protection keeps a count of trials per network address for 24 hours.

What we do not do

We do not sell data, run advertising, or train models on your documents. We do not read your documents except to debug a problem you report.

Deleting your data

Delete any document from your library and its text, audio and progress are removed. To delete your account and everything in it, email hello@readloud.app from the address you signed up with.
